There are quite a few advanced countries that have institutions of higher learning. Many of these institutions have had graduates that are planning to, or are otherwise interested in, entering the field of science. When it comes to ranking the number of science-educated graduates, however, the United States holds the position of 38 out of 40.

The Percentage of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Graduates

Studies within the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math are referred to as STEM. According to the Science, Technology and Industry Scoreboard report from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, just 18% of American college graduates were STEM majors. It’s interesting to note that Korea leads the United States in STEM major graduates. Recent data indicates that they have graduated the highest percentage at 38%.

While many students may initially declare majors in engineering and science, it’s been demonstrated that a large percentage of these students change their majors. The President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology found that this is the case with approximately 40% of college students. Part of the reason for this may be that they were inadequately prepared for the rigors of these majors.

U.S. Department of Labor Statistics on Science and Engineering Workers

There has been economic growth in this country attributed to the efforts of workers employed within various science and engineering fields, The U.S. Department of Labor released data that indicates only five percent of workers are employed within these fields. Nevertheless, 50% of the country’s economic growth has been linked to their efforts. When considering the impact of just five percent of the science and engineering labor force has had on the economy, it’s important to encourage more individuals to enter these important fields.

Helpful Health Education Products

If you’re currently planning to enter the medical field, or are already taking classes, you may be interested in a variety of health education products. These are beneficial for students, health practitioners, and their patients. You may, for example, be interested in having posters and charts that provide detailed information on the female anatomy, such as female reproductive anatomy labeled with each part of this system. In addition to detailed female reproductive anatomy labeled in detail, you may also be interested in having a chart of the male anatomy, which includes the male reproductive system.

In addition to charts that contain the female reproductive anatomy labeled with vital information, other helpful educational products include items such as anatomical chart digestive system charts. Diabetes education posters, such as the diabetic portion control plate, and a drug identification guide, can also be helpful for workshops and to otherwise instruct students and patients. These products are particularly beneficial for individuals that are predominantly visual learners. They can also reinforce this information for other types of learners, of course.

When you contact a sales representative, you will be able to learn more about these and other health education products. As you have likely experienced, visual aids can make a significant impact on the overall learning process. Furthermore, many medical offices will have posters and other materials in their offices for patients to learn more about a variety of medical issues. It’s also important to note that these products are available in Spanish.
